Excellent thermal flow design with positive air pressure to keep dust out, Magnetic intake filters are easily removed from exterior for quick cleaning, SATA backplane only requires two (2) 4pin molex to power all 8 swap bays, Twin crossflow cooling fans c
No wire tie downs to keep front panel wiring away from side crossflow fans, SATA backplane capacitors stick out, reducing space for heatsink/fan cooler, The DS380 requires an SFX power supply with at least 20A on the +5V rail, Currently there's not much c
Hardware installation is a breeze. The large and open interior makes for a painless experience. The hard drive cage does a fantastic job of hiding some wiring. No cuts, no scrapes, no scratches. The question is, did the DS380 have what it takes to be...

As one of the few DIY NAS enclosures around, there's a lot to appreciate about the DS380: it's cleaner than using an old desktop, more flexible than buying a prebuilt NAS and it's priced at a fair $135.
Needless to say, the DS380 isn't perfect. Our biggest gripe is probably the awkward plastic bridge that blocks PCIe functionality, though we didn't enjoy picking the front I/O audio cable free of glue either.

At first view it would be very easy to think of the new DS380 from SilverStone as a simple, elegant file server, and to do so would be quite acceptable, as it is certainly able to fulfil that role with aplomb. It has all the right ingredients. eight 3.5/...
For a SilverStone case, the DS380 is surprisingly utilitarian. It has some of the flourishes SilverStone is known for like the brush aluminum door and the easily accessible external dust filters, but on the inside, things are considerably more Spartan...
Abstrakt: The SilverStone DS380 is a small form factor case that fits DTX & Mini-ITX motherboards. What separates this case for others is that it fits up to 12 drives. This case looks excellent, the build quality is great, it includes three 120mm fans with dust fil...
The SilverStone DS380 is one of very few storage-centric chassis. The build quality of the chassis was rather superb, and I found all the materials used to be quite durable all the way down to the hot swap trays themselves. In doing the build, I did find...
Great build quality, Several smart anti-tamper protections, Good price for what you get, Room for a lot of hardware considering the size, Great cooling abilities,
Some larger add-on cards might cost you a hot-swap bay, “Silverstone hit a triple home run with the DS380. It comes at a tiny footprint, allows for a massive amount of hardware inside, and with a quality that doesn’t leave many wishes open.”, Silverstone
PricingThe Silverstone DS380 isn't one of the cheapest chassis on the market, but when you think of all the features, hot-swap bays and other included bonuses - I'd call it a bargain. What you'd otherwise pay to upgrade any other chassis with 8 hot-swap b...
