Support for both Daydream VR and Google Tango, Great display, Impressive audio quality, Surprisingly good camera, Solid performance, even with Tango apps
ASUS's ZenUI feels like overkill, Disappointing battery life, Many Tango experiences miss the mark, Not compelling if you're not interested in Tango
Lenovo's Phab2 Pro might have been first, but the ZenFone AR's superior hardware makes it the best Tango device yet. That's not really saying much, though: The Tango experience isn't much better than it was a year ago, and there still isn't much there to...

The display is a tolerable size with a crisp resolution, nice color balance, and good viewing angles, It's pretty good, especially coming from Asus. Most outdoor photos come out looking nice, indoor and lowlight shots are hit or miss, though, Even though

Fun AR apps and games, Sharp Quad HD display, Solid performance, Good battery life, High-quality audio, No bloatware
Underwhelming Tango apps, Heavy UI layer, Pricey
The unlocked Asus ZenFone AR puts Google Tango in an accessible form factor with solid hardware, but the AR experience still feels unpolished, and the price is high for what you get...
Grippy, solid build, Tons of pack-ins, Free Tango and Daydream experiences included, 3.5mm audio jack, Ultra fast, Tons of software options, Absolutely killer camera software, Tango capability, Daydream capability, Excellent screen for VR, Unlocked and Ve
Not IP rated for water or dust resistance, Some Bluetooth audio popping issues, Screen is too dim outside, Video stabilization isn't great
ASUS has crafted an amazing phone, and likely their best phone ever. It's more expensive than many ASUS phones, which often try to compete in the higher value-for-money market segment, but as a result it offers more premium features than those devices do...
Runs Tango AR and Daydream VR apps, Incredible screen with an array of color options
Design is kind of meh, with big bezels and an old-school home button, Camera is disappointing for taking actual photos, Awful battery life, especially when using it for AR
Nearly endless customization options ensure that the display can be calibrated just to your liking. Most people probably ignore screen-tweaking options, but because anyone who buys the Zenfone AR will be looking at the display for extended periods, they...
