Scratches the Halo itch, Engaging campaign missions, Interface gets creative on console, Plenty of multi-player modes
Control issues with Xbox gamepad, Doesn't feel as deep as other RTS titles, Blitz mode includes micro-transactions
If you're looking for the best real-time strategy game on the market, look elsewhere. But if you want a solid Halo game with some surprisingly complex strategy gameplay, and can look past its flaws. Halo Wars 2 may be worth your time...

Blitz mode is addictive, Comfortable console RTS play, Late missions are strong
Early campaign is plodding, Story isn't riveting, Some technical hitches
For the first few minutes of Halo Wars 2, I felt uncomfortably overwhelmed - even as a veteran of the original game. After the first hour, however, I was hooked. 24 hours later, I find myself facing withdrawal symptoms, desperate to pick up the controller...
Feels part of the Halo universe, Strong campaign and mission design, Frantic console-friendly multiplayer modes
Hard to navigate fast around the battlefield, Nothing really new in RTS terms, Minor technical issues
Halo Wars 2 is very much a console-first product. From base building, to unit selection, to game modes, this title is set up to make Xbox One users as comfortable as possible. PC tacticians may find the on-rails experience frustrating. My biggest conce...
Halo Wars 2 is a ballroom blitz with dangerously addictive levels of fun. It may be lacking in the length department when it comes to its tragically short campaign, but it's a shining second chance example at proving that strategy games can work on consol...

Halo Wars 2 will scratch a real-time strategy itch and give you a dose of Halo-Universe flavor with a decent story, but it won't go much deeper than that. A run-of-the-mill campaign, controls that hamper micromanagement, conspicuous bugs, and multiplayer...
Easy to pick up and play, Nuances are well-explained, Entertaining plot with depth if needed
Minor frame-rate drops, Not for those looking for slower-paced strategy, Visually pedestrian, Rating (out of 10): 8, We played a review copy of Halo Wars 2 on the Xbox One S. The game is available from February 21 and costs Rs.4,000 ($60 in the US) for Wi

Early campaign is plodding, Story isn't riveting, Some technical hitches
Blitz helps nudge Halo Wars 2 from being a solid continuation of the eight-year-old design to being something I can actually see myself returning to again and again. The campaign gets off to an uninspiring start that continues on for a few hours as it duti...
