Abstrakt: Panasonic Lumix FZ 28 digital camera Panasonic believes in evolution rather than revolution and the latest iteration of its superzoom shows how patient improvement pays off. Gone are the bad old days of infuriating shutter lag - the FZ28 is as res...
The lens is magnificent. The effectiveness of the image stabilisation is simply sensational – hand-held photos taken at full zoom extension, equivalent to 486mm, are amazingly sharp. Image quality at ISO speeds up to 200 is very good. ISO400 is OK a...
Unfortunately if you opt for the Intelligent Auto function you won’t know what ISO speeds the camera is choosing until after the event. Auto white balance is poor and the camera is easily fooled under artificial or mixed light sources.
This camera is a pleasure to use. The bad old days of intolerable shutter lag in all-in-one superzooms are well behind us – the Panasonic is as responsive as any compact camera. It can’t match a true SLR, but it is priced against the low end e...

Good low ISO image quality, lens, features, iA (intelligent Auto), HD movies, handling
High ISO image noise, plastic build
Ultra-zoom digicams, such as Panasonic’s new Lumix FZ28 offer a jack-of-all-trades camera to those that require an everything-built-into-one-body solution; but it’s actually an excellent piece of kit well worth closer consideration...
Abstrakt: Panasonics FZ18 has been our favourite ultra-zoom camera since we reviewed it almost a year ago. Its successor isnt much different: the only external changes are a slightly larger LCD, up from 2½in to 2.7in, and a new playback switch. Still-image ...
Abstrakt: Big shot. Top image quality and high performance too - the ideal superzoom. The FZ28 was the lightest camera on test except for Kodaks Z8612 IS. Thats partly thanks to its Li-ion battery, which is more compact than AAs. A mini-joystick provides q...
