The Canon HV20 high-definition camcorder has excellent video quality, nice features, HDMI output, and an accessory shoe.
Cant change white balance while shooting; night mode doesnt help poor low-light performance.
Canons HV20 camcorder is a great choice for HD-happy amateurs, but its low-light performance could have been better.
Abstrakt: We had high hopes for the Canon HV20, just as we did for the Sony HDR-HC7, and at first glance they look like they are cut from the same cloth. These camcorders are nearly identical in size and shape, they both produce a beautiful image, and bring a...

Excellent cinematic mode, plenty of different modes, great picture quality.

Abstrakt: Canon grabs the crown for the most fully featured HDV camcorder for under a grand. Although HD broadcasting is slow in coming to the UK, HD camcorders are arriving thick and fast, and prices are dropping. Sony had the first few generations of the cons...
Abstrakt: Compared to Panasonic’s sleek HDC-SD1, the Canon HV20 looks a bit ungainly with its large MiniDV tape mechanism grafted onto one side. The HV20 records 1920-x-1080-pixel interlaced (1080i) HDV video (or standard DV) footage to MiniDV tapes. It offer...
Abstrakt: Canons HV20 is the first consumer HD camcorder to provide a progressive scan option. This means it captures complete frames, just like a traditional film camera, rather than interlacing, which splits frames into a series of fields, each consisting ...
Good lens, Strong audio, Easy to handle, Impressive performance
Bulky, No lens rings
Ease of use: 4/5. Lovely ergonomic design with well-placed buttons and superb manual control. Fixed viewfinder a bit of a pain though.Features: 4/5. Lots of great features and excellent connectivity. Full inputs and outputs plus 25P a definite advantag...
