Excellent Wi-Fi range and speeds, Comprehensive Web interface, Great design
Steep price tag, 3G and 4G stick compatibility is murky
ASUS's RT-N66U N900 is about as fully-featured as a consumer Wi-Fi router could get. It's got a great Web interface that makes it one of the easiest to use, most versatile routers we've tried out. It's expensive, and there are a few extras that are imperf...
Fantastic wireless range. Good 5GHz speeds. USB ports support 3G failover. Easy-to-use, well-thought-out interface. Download software built in for those without NAS. Multiple guest SSIDs. Detachable antennas
Close performance for 2.4GHz isn't as good as it could be. Asus does not supply 3G dongle-compatibility list. Can run a little hot
While the RT-N66U may not have had the fastest 2.4GHz signal at close quarters, it certainly has the best range of any 802.11n router we've tested. Add to this the easy-to-use interface, leagues of options and the fact that it simply works — we can't hel...
Abstrakt: The ASUS router line-up was stagnant for quite some time, but it recently came roaring back into the fold with a range of new designs and products. At the top of the new performance range is the RT-N66U, which supports dual-band 450Mbps wireless, Gigab...

The true dualband Asus RTN66U Dark Knight Double 450Mbps N Router offers excellent coverage, stable wireless signals, and stellar data rates on the 5GHz band. The router comes with a generous feature set and can also work as a standalone VPN server.
The RTN66U's firmware is a little buggy and its data rate on the 2.4GHz band could use some improvement. The router's USB ports don't support the USB 3.0 standard
Though not perfect, the Asus RT-N66U Dark Knight Double 450Mbps N Router would make an excellent network gateway for home and small-office environments....
Great overall performance, Lots of useful features, Extremely stable router, Very well built, Modest price
5 GHz performance can be beaten at this price point, Will need a 450 Mbps adapter to get best performance, Kitguru says: Another great router from ASUS which delivers fantastic all round performance at a very reasonable price point, Rating: 9.0, Pages: 1
To test this router we set-up a simple network in our house, which used a standard ISP provided Virgin Media Router as a modem. We then plugged in both the ASUS RT-N66U and our Buffalo AirStation Nfiniti Dual Band Wireless Router (WZR-HP-AG300H). This all...
Supereasy setup, Fast performance on wired and 5GHz WiFi band, Good looks
USB ports should be SuperSpeed, Easier access to router buttons
the Dark Knight Router should at least be on a shortlist for your next router upgrade, though, as always, bringing down the price to sub-£100 would play well . The latest generation of routers bundled in with broadband providers' packages provide ampl...
It's nice to see that none of the routers in this test perform poorly, but a few of them don't seem to take advantage of the extra data stream. We would still choose the 300n Netgear WNDR3800 over no less than nine of the fourteen 450N routers in this t...
