Although AMD's 6700/6800K APUs do not perform as well as Intel's Core i7-3770K, they still have quite a bit to offer. Start with the fact that they are true four core processors with integrated graphics processors, extremely energy efficient and have an e...
Abstrakt: Last week, Intel released 4th Generation Core “Haswell” processors and this week we have AMD releasing the company’s 3rd generation of APUs, known as “Richland.” AMD “Richland” APUs are said to bring 20-40 percent performance increases over the previous generation of AMD A-Series “Trinity” APUs, so AMD fans have been waiting months for this day to come. The other nice thing about these new APUs is that they don’t require a new platform and work in all existing AMD Socket FM2 motherboards after a quick BIOS update. Abstrakt: With the release of the Llano chips in mid-2011 and the Trinity chips in late-2012, the AMD APUs were shown to be the perfect option for the person who wanted a cheap, yet capable system that could be expanded on in the future. They not only offered p...

The A10-6800K delivers somewhere from 5% to 25% performance improvements over the A10-5800K where a workload is CPU bound, then the improvement often lies on the lower end of the spectrum. On the average, the APU is about 10% faster than its predecessor....

Abstrakt: Richland, code name for AMD's highest-end APUs, finds its way into our lab in the form of A10-6700 and A10-6800K. Based on the Piledriver architecture and VLIW4 graphics, these chips are slight improvements to Trinity. Can they outshine Core i3, though? ...
Beats comparatively priced Intel CPUs, No Need to get a New Motherboard, 35W lower TDP than the A106800K,
Performance over Trinity doesn't justify pricing
So the question is whether or not the 35W lower TDP on the A10-6700 makes up for 200MHz slower clock speed. The benchmark results are very clear. The A10-6700 performs exactly the same as the A10-6800K when it comes to graphics performance. That makes...
Abstrakt: While it may be based on last year’s Trinity architecture AMD’s new Richland A10-6800K and A10-6700 APUs bring higher performance and new features to the table without consuming more power. However, in such a competitive processor market, will they r...
Abstrakt: That the fastest processors are currently made by Intel is not really a secret, but what is the best choice when you want to spend up to £ 50, £100 or £150? To answer that question we conducted a megatest of 57 current AMD and Intel CPUs. From two to...
Abstrakt: AMD recently introduced us to its Mullins and Beema APUs, which are architecturally similar to Kabini and Temash, but include some power and performance enhancements. We take an early look at a custom form factor and compare to Intel's best effort. When...
